THE PURPOSE OF THE OUD COURSE AT MUSIC HOUSE IS THAT OF EXPLORING THE CULTURE OF THE ARABIC TRADITION, THROUGH ONE OF THE MOST USED AND ESSENTIAL INSTRUMENTS.

Duration:
WE PROVIDE OUD COURSES IN THREE LEVELS (BEGINNER, INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED) AND EACH COURSE PERIOD IS 12 SESSIONS.

The first course includes:

basics of oud
Reading notes in simple time signature
First position for left hand
Playing the basic Arabic scales in one octave
Playing simple melodies and simple Arabic songs
Basic theories

The second course includes:

Reading notes in compound time signature
second and third positions for left hand
extra Arabic scales
exercises for both hands
more advanced songs and instrumental pieces
introduction for Arabic forms

The third course includes :

more advanced exercises and etude for oud
playing scales in three octaves
analyze forms and pieces and rhythms
how to add variations
how to improvise
contemporary pieces contain different techniques and different levels of difficulty
